Moving to Arizona

It's been official for some time, but now it's starting to feel real. One more week and we'll be loading the moving truck with the last of our possessions (that would be the second 26ft truck) and cleaning the house for the last time (the 12th time in 6 years I think) and getting ready to hit the road for Arizona (4 adults - thanks Dad and Uncle Mike for helping - 3 squirrely kids and 1 very mature guinea pig traveling in a 26ft moving truck, a 21ft RV, my Honda Odyssey and Uncle Mike's pickup truck). Note to self: make sure AAA is paid up and I have the cards handy; bring a shoebox and shovel in case Cocoa the guinea pig should, well you know.

People keep asking me what I think about it all. What do I think... Well I'm very excited about the new adventures we'll be having - new house, new business, new places to explore. I'm excited to be closer to family and all the family activities like Grandma taking the kids for the weekend, Thanksgiving at my house with a ba-zillion people,
Auntie taking the kids for the weekend, visiting Grandma's cabin in Strawberry, Grandma and Auntie taking the kids for the weekend. Did I mention Grandma and/or Auntie taking the kids for the weekend? Those sorts of things.

But I'm sad too. We've been in Boise 16 years now and this house 6 years and it's the longest I've been in any town and house. And in that time I have found the MOST AMAZING FRIENDS anyone could ever ask for. With them I can be my self and not be anxious about saying or doing the "wrong" thing. They get my sense of humor. Why they're even throwing me a Go Away Party! going away, go away? hhhmmm...... Well they even are having it at my house so that I don't have to spend all that extra money on gas driving somewhere - I just have to clean an extra time before the party.... hhhmmm..... I know I'll not find friends in Arizona as great as my friends are here!!! Why I'll bet they've never planned a homeschool homebirth field trip ever!!! Too bad Kyle was breach - that field trip would have been soooo cool. LOL!

Unfortunately for me I'm super-bad at keeping in touch. I'm an out-of-sight out-of-mind kind of gal. But I've been inspired by several of my friends' blog sites and encouraged by others to create a blog site.
I've been told it's very easy and not so time consuming and truth be told if I just stopped playing Spider Solitaire I'd have more than enough time to publish a blog site, clean my house, homeschool my kids, manage the books for the business etc. etc. So here is the inaugural keep-in-touch blog site for all the well-loved people in my life!!! And you know who you are!!! Here's to having Moore Fun in Arizona!!!

Yeah!!!! You did it! I love it. Great Job, Misty! Now to just get your camera hooked up to your blog so we can see funny pictures of you pulling your hair out in a few weeks...

:^( I already miss you!

I don't want to miss you, I want you to stay right here. I hate change that creates separations, loss. I like it the way it is.

But it will be nice to see you via blog. I just kept believing (okay denial) that you would change your minds!

I love the blog and I'm going to harass you if you don't keep it up! :) No pressure...You already have me laughing out loud between the hamster story, kids going to Grandma's house & giving up some Spider Solitaire time.
I'm going to miss you Gilligan!

Hey Misty,

With the addition of another blogsite done by friends I have been forced to create a favorites folder. Don't worry, I don't feel forced to start a blog (yet) although I look forward to reading yours. :)

Thanks for hosting the party at your house and living so close so I don't have to spend a lot of gas $ either. :) See you tomorrow night.

Love your blog, humor, and warmth!

What a great way to start your blog with an adventure to Arizona. This will give you lots to share. And yes, pictures, must have pictures. Those are easy to do - when you post a few at a time.

It has been such a blessing getting to know you in the short time we have met through swimming lessons and Bunco at your home. I can just imagine how much your friends will miss you, but thrilled for you at the same time! Take care.

Why aren't there more posts on here!!! And you can't give me the excuse of "I'm packing and up to my eyeballs in boxes" (use whiny voice here)...cause that's totally lame! *wink* I was hoping to see an update here, but alas, you must have the computer packed already...either that or you decided to save us all the details of, "so today we packed the kitchen and used paper and boxes...oh and tape..." ;o) We'll all be waiting on pins and needles to get your first AZ Blog - Hugs! Misty and I had first met about 10yrs ago when my husband was working in Pest Control and would go to their home on Hackamore and kill those nasty bugs. Alex was an infant. In recent years we had lost touch and reconnected at a Homeschool conference. What a blessing that turned out to be. Sometimes we don't realize what we had until you lose it and get it back again.
Last year Misty and I took on Zoology. We managed to get a couple field trips in and learned about birds, bats, flying dinosaurs and genuinely had a great time. Last week Caleb, Aaron and I drove to Lowman to spend the afternoon with my parents who were at their favorite camp spot. Sorry can't give it away. Anyway, I was excited to see a Mountain Blue Jay, Wilson's Warbler and Osprey. We had a telscope and were able to observe the Osprey bringing food to the nest. I thought of Misty the kids and Tony and missed them. If Misty and I had not tackled that course I doubt I would have appreciated what I was seeing in God's perfect creatio. The Osprey are a beautiful reminder of God's creation of family. Both Male and Female Osprey care for the chicks until they fledge. Misty & Tony are that kind of family. Created and Blessed by God. They are a wonderful example and I will miss having you in my sight. Can't wait to visit. Hope all is well. The Christensen Family

Hi, I don't know how I found your blog but I'm glad I did.

We're a military family and have been in Arizona for about a year, we moved here last year from Mountain Home in Idaho. I MISS it so much, we fell in love with Boise and Mtn. Home and Idaho in general and it was just sad having to move to Arizona.

Hope you like it better than we do LOL I'm still not enjoying it and just can't wait until we return to Idaho.

Stop by my blog anytime :)
